Sergio Bernardini graduated with honours in piano at the Conservatory “Santa Cecilia” in Rome, under the guidance of Master Fausto Di Cesare. In 1980 he won the second prize at the piano competition “Città di Albenga”. He has attended several postgraduated courses, including those held by Master Carlo Zecchi in 1982, by Franco Medori in 1983, by Fausto Di Cesare in 1984, 1985, 1986 and by Boris Bloch in 1989.

On the occasion of the centenary of Liszt he played for important musical associations (Association of Roman Musical, Arts Academy of Rome, Anna Jervolino of Italy, Giuseppe Giordani of Rieti, Franz Liszt of Albano, etc), receiving critical and flattering acclaims of major newspapers such as “Il Tempo”, “L’ Osservatore Romano”, “Il Secolo d’ Italia”, “Avvenire”, etc. He has participated in important events Arts Academy (Festival of Anzio in 1990 playing with the Orchestra’s second concert of Chopin, Festival of Anzio in 1993, musics of Goffredo Petrassi in the author’s presence, etc).
He devotes himself to contemporary music, performing the world premiere compositions by various authors such as Ermanno Pradella (El Regreso according to the text of Garcia Lorca), the two symphonies for 21 pianos of Daniele Lombardi (Paris, Milan, Siracusa, etc...). He also has participated in various performances of “Smorfie” by Fausto Razzi according to the text of Edoardo Sanguineti. Moreover, he places side by side the comprehensive music to the soloistic activity with the vocal-instrumental “Lieder Ensemble” group conducted by Maestro Fausto Di Cesare, performing numerous concerts with him. (Università “Cattolica del Sacro Cuore” of Rome, Università “Luiss” of Rome, Sala Casella in Rome, Palazzo Barberini in Rome, Campidoglio - Sala della Protomoteca, Teatro Greco of Rome, Teatro Vascello of Rome, Musical Association “La Risonanza”, Tuscania, Cortona, Bari, Brindisi, Naples, Enna, Caltanissetta, etc), working actively in search of compositions which are little known to the public as well as transcriptions of plays in music.
